Terms of Service

Last updated: March 29, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Relay plugin for Claude Code and related services (“Relay”) provided by Basegraph, Inc. (“Basegraph,” “we,” “us”). By installing or using Relay, you agree to these terms.

1. What Relay is

Relay is a plugin for Claude Code that shapes how the AI assistant thinks, captures engineering decisions, and carries context across sessions and teammates. Relay includes a CLI binary, hooks that run during Claude Code sessions, and a server that stores session and decision data.

2. Your account

When you install Relay, you provide your name, email, and role. This is your identity. You are responsible for keeping your license key secure. One license key is for one person. Do not share it.

3. Free trial

Relay is free for your first 20 sessions. After that, the plugin goes dormant. To continue using Relay, subscribe at basegraph.co/plugin and activate with your license key.

4. Subscription and payment

5. What you own

Your code is yours. Your decisions are yours. We do not claim ownership of any content you create, decisions you capture, or code you write while using Relay.

Session data stored in .relay/sessions/ in your repository belongs to you. It lives in your git history and is under your control.

6. What we own

Basegraph owns the Relay software, including the CLI binary, output style prompts, hooks, and server infrastructure. The plugin is proprietary. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the binary.

7. Data collection

Relay collects account information, session metadata, and structured decision summaries. Relay does not collect source code, file contents, or conversation transcripts. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Availability

Relay is provided as-is. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. The plugin functions offline for core features (output style, local session capture). Server-dependent features (decision sync, trial verification) require connectivity.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Basegraph is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Relay. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Relay is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the plugin or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Service interruption

We may temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance, updates, or security reasons. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. The plugin continues to function offline for core features (output style, local session capture) regardless of server availability.

14. EU and UK consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase for any reason. To exercise this right, contact legal@basegraph.co and we will issue a full refund within 14 days.

15. Reselling

You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to Relay without our express written permission.

16. Assignment

Basegraph may transfer its rights and obligations under these terms to another entity (for example, in the event of an acquisition). You may not assign your rights without our written consent.

17. Termination

You can stop using Relay at any time by running relay uninstall. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. EU and UK consumers retain the protections of their local consumer laws.
